View down Clun Valley from the Hurst (J.C)

Crown House, now a listed Georgian residence owned by Reg and Judy Maund, was built as an inn in about 1740 and continued trading until 1968. In the nineteenth century the stables at the rear were used as a saddler's and harness maker's workshop, but were later converted into the cottage where Reg and Judy now offer bed and breakfast accommodation.

"Gorgeous accommodation and the hospitality was nothing short of perfect."

Our hearty breakfasts will really set you up for the day. Later guests will appreciate that the two pubs in the village are only five minutes walk away, both serving good food and real ale. Alternatively, there are many other excellent places to eat in the local area, including some award winning restaurants. See Local Attractions for more details.

Packed lunches can be provided by arrangement, and we have good drying facilities for wet clothes and boots.

Clun lies near the head of the beautiful Clun Valley, designated as an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)', so walkers are spoilt for choice. The Shropshire Way, Wild Edric's Way and Jack Mytton's Long Distance Bridleway all pass through Clun, and a short drive will take you to The Long Mynd and the Stiperstones. We give free lifts to and from Offa's Dyke Long Distance Footpath, which passes within two and a half miles.

Friendly dogs are welcome by arrangement, provided they are kept under control. Please no dogs that maybe aggressive to other animals or people, as it is not fair to our own pets or other guests.

For the comfort of all our guests we have a strictly No Smoking policy in the cottage.
